8th Grade - Mrs. gina martens - Email: [email protected]

Gina Martens grew up outside of Concordia, Missouri. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran Grade School, moved on to St. Paul Lutheran High School, and then pursued her teaching degree at Concordia University, Nebraska, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Education. After graduating from college, she received her first Call to Centralia, Illinois, where she taught first grade for two years. She married her husband, Jeff Martens, and moved back to the Concordia area taking various subbing jobs in the vicinity. She then accepted a Call to teach at Holy Cross in Emma, Missouri. During her years there, she taught Preschool, Kindergarten, Grades 3, 4, 5, and part-time 6, 7, 8, and was athletic director and coach. She left the teaching profession to be at home while her children were younger. During the years of raising her two daughters, she worked for an accident reconstructionist and later accepted the part-time position of Family Life Director at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She has recently returned to the teaching profession accepting the Call to be 8th grade teacher at St. Paul's. She is very excited about serving in that capacity and is thankful for the opportunity to work alongside her colleagues sharing the Gospel with the children around her.
